hi i have an alpine type x 10" in a sealed box getting 850 watts RMS from a 2 ohm load from my kenwood 9102 amp, and it hits pretty hard its just not that loud, i was wondering if i was to get the 12" version would it be louder and by how much, the 10" has a freq. response of 24-200hz, with 81 db sensitivity, and the 12" has a frequency respnse of 23-200 and 83db sensitivity, they both handle 1000rms, so i was wondering if it would be a good choice to upgrade to the 12" and sell the 10", just wanna know if it would be a noticeable difference...thanks in advance...any help would be greatly appreciated!!

It would be louder, but I don't know how much louder.  You'd have to listen to it yourself to decide.
That's my opinion. Take it, leave it, or correct me.

If you can assume the volume gain would be linear the 12 would be 2 db louder then the 10.Not a huge differance.
There is no such thing as free installation!

If it's louder you want, just build a new box (or have one built for you). Assuming you have the room, a ported box will probably give you the extra loudness you're looking for. Dig up your manual for that Type X or look it up on www.alpine.com and they should give you the dimensions for a good ported box.
Edit:
Infact, here is the linik to the manual. Look under "Optimum vented box." I would suggest building or having that box built for you.
