I installed a Metra VT-GMRC-01 harness kit with the door chime. The customer called me back and says that his door chime won't shut off. Anyone know of this issue?

No the difference between the GMRC-01 and the GMRC-02 is that one uses the OEM speaker, and the other uses it's own speaker. What I mean is if you look on the module or the package for the GMRC-01, it will say version 3.1 or something like that. You need the newest updated version of the GMRC-01 which I think is like the 3.5 or 3.6 or something.

I contacted Metra and talked to the tech. Guy was kind of an ass. Told me to send it in and they'll update it and send it back. My customer lives over an hour away. I'm just gonna buy either the soundgate or scosche harness that works and drive down to the guys house.

wow, they offer to upgrade your module no charge and that makes him an a** because it's not convienient for you ....

i prefer the Metra over the Scosche or Soundgate units... of course i stock more than 1 at a time, so if i happen to have an issue with one once a year i just replace it for the customer and then send the defective unit in for replacement with a new one.....
