Motorized Faceplate on HU problems

i have a 1997 Dodge Intrepid with a Soundstorm headunit with a motorized faceplate and when i turn off the car or try to change cds it makes a rattling sound. the only way i can change cds is push eject and then turn the cd player off. this rattling is getting annoying can anyone help me figure out what is wrong?? Any help at all would be appreciated

Soundstorm!! Sorry mate all I can say is throw it out not worth fixing cost too much sounds like its got stripped teeth on the drive gears.

ok sometimes it doesnt make any noise at all whn i turn the car off could this still be the case?

Well SoundStorm is not really a good brand you are lucky that it's worked as long as it has. I would spend some money on a good head unit. sorry I know that's not that anwser you were looking for , but that's the only one I have.
