Getting new sub, need help with box for it

Hey if you need help with the dimensions for your box, there is a handy dandy volume calculator right here at the12volt.com.   Just go over to the calculator section and you'll find what you're looking for.  I already looked , and if you just want a simple box, you could go 15"x15"x16" with 3/4 mdf and get an interior volume of around 1.63 cu.ft.  This leaves you a little extra volume to take up with bracing.  The best way is to get a good idea of the volume of your bracing, then come up with your box dimensions as adjusted to that. Keep in mind, your driver basket will take up volume, too. This all depends on how accurate you want to be.  I commend you on your choice of a sealed enclosure, especially with all that amplifier power!! Just remember, spending a little extra time on this box will make all the difference. Measure twice and you'll only cut once. Make sure to use the right materials. I like big dog's suggestion, he knows his s***. Make absolutely sure your box is glued up real good. The screws should only be a backup, but dont hold back. Glue and screws! Gluing and bracing are probably the most important construction techniques.Of course, 1" mdf never hurt anyone. ( unless they dropped it on their toes).  Do a good job on this first custom box and you'll be hooked. then wait a few years to see if you want to thank us or not.
