I connected the 508d proximity sensor to my Viper 791xv. The problem im having is that if i set off the proximity sensor, it shows sensor 1. If i set of the shock sensor, it also shows sensor 1. How can i get the alarm to differentiate between sensor 1 and sensor 2? I connected the red to red, black to black, and the blue and green from the prox. i connected both of them to the blue. The loose green wire from the harness, i connected that as well to the blue wire. The green wire that loops, i left untouched. If i did any of the wiring wrong, can you please point it out? thanks.

The alarm will always read the same trigger, b/c you are hooking it up to the same trigger. If you want it to read a different trigger you need to connect it to another zone.

Double check your instructions. If I'm reading them right here's the where I think the trouble is.

You tied the blue and green wires from the prox sensor to the blue wire the goes to the shock sensor on the included 4 wire harness

The instructions are kinda misleading. I think they meant for you to connect the blue and green of the prox sensor together THEN connect those to the blue wire on the *H1* (primary harness ZONE 4). This is the trunk (-) input.

This is the samething doiboy was saying. So... When the prox goes off the alarm will see it as the trunk being opened, you'll just have to remember that it's the prox sensor.

Oh by the way, the above is on page 19

I see on page 33 where they instruct you installing a 2nd sensor on the same 4wire harness without diode isolating. Kinda looks like what you tried. HOWEVER this would cause both units to report on the same zone (ZONE 2). Page 19 would make the prox report on another zone (ZONE 4 trunk).

Page 33 was probably intended for 1 shock and 1 glass sensor which both would show as a hammer on the windshield (?) while page 19 is for those who want independant reporting.

Thanks for the help. i bought the sensor used so it didnt come with a manual. On the alarm manual, it shows on the remote that there is a Sensor 1 Indicator- Full Trigger and Warn away, and Sensor 2 Indicator- Full Trigger and Warn away. heres a picture of what im talking about. maybe im getting it mixed up with something else

You will need to use a separate trigger and also diode isolate any wires that share two trigger inputs:

the harness coming from the alarm to the shock sensor has a green wire that is not conneted to anything

take the green and blue from the prox sensor tie them together and connect them to the green comming from the alarm brian,

thanks, connecting the green and blue from the prox to the that green wire fixed the probelm. it shows up as 2 different sensors now Did i wire the proximity sensor right? -- posted image.
