i have two(2) 15" cadance subs powered by a 2500 watt cadance amp i have all the equipment i need for another battery i juat want to check to make sure i'm not going to blow anything when i turn it all on. any help would be wonderful

another batt will not blow anything up just make your alternator work a lil harder. run the batt's positive to positive, neg to neg. and thats all their is to it. just remember to fuse the new batt too.

wouldn't that be a paralell setup and make the voltage 24 volts instead of 12, therefore frying everything?

no, the voltage would remain the same.

Make sure your alternator is capable of charging another battery. If your drawing a lot of current (2500watts is a good bit) then your alternator must be able to keep up with this current draw. I've seen a lot of people fry their old alternators because they wanted to try and save some money. Then again, I've also seen a lot of people stick with their stock alternators and haven't had a problem with it. It all Depends on your factory alternator's capabilities.

Keep in mind that a battery cannot "overpower" a stereo system. A battery is only a storage for energy. Whether or not you use this stored energy to kill your stereo is another question all together...

hey menace...it would only be 24v if you connect the positive from one to the neg of the other...then you would get 24v on the other 2 terminals.

if u are using a factory alternater then consider uppgrading it also.
