Can anyone explain to me how the anti-grind feature of a RS works? How does it kill the ignition cranking when the motor is running....etc...

thanks

it interupts  the stater wire when the engine is runnig.  If the starter wire doesnt have 12 volts on it the starter will not turn and grind the starter gear. Brian

I wondered that myself, after installing a R/S myself, I think I figured it out..(or at least, what I think happens) When you use the remote start function, it leaves the starter kill relay activated. So that when/if you turn the key, the starter kill relay stops the signal before it hits your starter.

But if you simply disarm the alarm, without remote starting, the starter kill relay is dis-activated, allowing the key signal to hit the starter.
