hey, i have checked everything i can think of and i am going crazy. I put the clifford matrix 2way remote start/alarm in my grand prix. the alarm works perfect. the remote start has been working for a little and for the last month it wont work. the car will start up for 5 seconds and then shut off. there is a light that looks like a battery that comes on???? The remote start will work if i start the car with the key, and then over-ride it into remote start and take the key out??? Even when i but the key in the ignition it wont stay on. so i know it is not the passlock. i am desperate to get this working.

thanks

hey, everyone has got to start somewhere. but ill learn

It is a passkey 3, and it is not the problem. under the remote start the car wont even stay on with the key in the ignition. but like i said, what i dont get is the battery light coming on?

You still haven't answered what you used to bypass the passkey system. Just because it won't stay running with the key in the ignition doesn't mean anything.
Also what all did you fire up for the ignitions and accessory wires? Make sure you got the pink and the white ignitions, and the orange accessory powered up. If you missed any of them that could explain the battery light kicking on. .
Also did you hookup the tach wire or are you using voltage sensing? If voltage sensing, the remote start will probably shut down when the battery light (low voltage) is on because it doesn't think the car is running anymore.
Just putting some ideas out there good luck,
Mike

If you installed it yourself, you would know the answer to this question, but did you, like our buddy NowYa said, hook up tach or voltage sense? Sounds like to me that it's in voltage sense and it isn't recognizing the car is running, so it shuts itself off. Hook up your tach wire to the white wire at the coil pack under the hood where all the plug wires meet on the engine. Tach is the most reliable signal to tell the remote start when to stop cranking and that the car is running.

i hooked up the tach wire and did the tach learn. the led indicated the tach was learned. that is why i cranks and runs, but then it shuts off after 5 seconds?

Is the theft light flashing when it remote starts and shuts off? Or just the battery light?
