New but not a Newbie to fiberglassing

My name is john and i have gone thru this forum and have seen some really nice setups. I have been working with fiberglass for about 4 years but it's been on small projects. Anyway here is my current project...My wife's 67 VW bug.This is after taping and waxing. Took about an hour to get here.As you can see I taped the fiberglass in place to make it easier to saturate.Last coat of bondo!! As you can see it got better.This was after the first two layers of Fiberglass. Eventually I finished 4 layers.This is after curing and clean up. The wood braces you see are dividers.I make my own rings all the way up to 24 inches.I braced it all up and then fberglassed the braces to the main mold.This was after the fleece was pulled over and cut away. Looks decent.After the fleece dried I sanded it....and then the work began.This was the first layer of glass..I didn't like it.This looks worst than it really is.....but it gets better.Finally a done deal...well on side is done.Now we are done!!...The boxes are going to be wrapped in leather the same color as the interior. I still have a couple more fiberglass projects to finish on this bug i will post pics of those also.

Here is a dash that I customized using Fiberglass over a steel frame. it use to look like this:Now it looks like this:

bravo.  my only suggestion is a mistake that i see almost all people make when they do glasswork.  if possible, try and rip the fiberglass matt, rather than cut it.  the interweaving fibers makes it stronger and also more even.  usually, you can even get the shapes better than using rectangular cut pieces.  just my 2 cents though.  either way, the output is fantastic, congratulations.  I would love to see it upholstered.

There are two 10 inch Infinty VQ subs and two Infinity component speaker systems. The smaller speaker you see is a 6 inch mid and it has a tweeter that comes with it along with a crossover. I also have a 5.5 inch mid in the door with a tweeter. The speakers are seperated inside. Not sure about the inlay work..still trying to figure out what we are going to do. I may fiberglass inside the roof. we will see.

nice...my bad i thought you had like 12" subs mixed with 8's or something going on there..10's will be nice, and i am glad you separated the enclosures..it looks really good...the dash is nice too...Fiberglass Guru.
