Guys I have a 98 Neon that my daughter drives, yesterday the natives tried to steal it.I want to put in a blinking LEd from an alarm system to scare the thieves away.

CAn anyone tell me how to wire it to come on when ignition is off and off when ignition is on?

I have several relays .Can I use these and how do I wire it, I want a cheap way out for a short time, I will be dumping the car shortly ,but don't want it stolen between then.

Pin 85 to Ground

Pin 86 to Ignition

Pin 30 to fused +12V

Pin 87A to +12V input of device

Pin 87 No Connection

This will connect +12V to the device when the ignition is turned off and disconnect it when the ignition is on.

They make 12vdc blinking LEDs. Connect the 12vdc side to 12vdc (through a fuse of course) and the negative side to the igniton circuit. Almost all cars have ignition systems that rest at ground when the car is off, so the LED will only be grounded when the ignition is off.
