If it started as you manually turned the key it is the passlock interface, by doing this you are sending the resistance the BCM needs to allow the truck to start. This is a simple fix, if that shop refuses to fix the problem then take it somewhere else. Your truck it a easy install, and if the guys there won't fix it for you then they are probably not qualified to do the job in the first place. I know it sucks that you will have to pay a little extra to get it fixed correctly, but most respectible shops out there won't try to screw you if you tell them your story.

so just replace the passlock module?
