I'm running an Alpine CDA-7995 pre-amp HU, and a Soundstream Rubicon 1002 1000rms amp pushing 2-12W6V2'S in a sealed box. I want to get the most bass  but I'm having trouble tuning the subs because there are too many options. The HU has a built in crossover 60-180hz and the amp has 3 modes subsonic 13-30hz(no boost), hawkins bass control 30-70hz, and h.p. xover 70-160hz. It also has a l.p. xover in/out switch with a seperate adjustable knob 55-220hz. Any suggestions? What should the L&R bal/unbal input switches be set to? Also whats a good frequency for the mids and highs? Thanks for reading - mattsthru

All you're setting is the subwoofer crossover?  Turn everything on the amp to bypass or off or "full-range."  Set the HU low-pass to 80Hz.  If your subs are in ported enclosures, set the sub-sonic filter to the same as the tuning frequency of the enclosure.  If they are in a sealed enclosure, turn it off.
