Wiring up AutoLoc KL1800

Hello. I'm currently re-wriing my AutoLoc KL1800 Shaved Handle Kit and I have a few questions.

1) I will be running 8g wire from the relays to the solenoids the wire coming off of the relay harness is only about 14-12gauge (not sure exactly what gauge). So my question is what is the best way to connect the 8gauge to the smaller 14-12gauge wiring? I was thinking Soldering them together then heat shrinking.

1. Why so big (8 gauge)?  You can if you want, but it's not necessary.  They draw a good amount of current, but 10 or 12 gauge will be sufficient.  It'll only operate a fraction of a second at a time.  Either way, yes I'd solder and heat shrink.

2. If it's just to flash the parking lights, then I'd just tap the constant at the steering column, fusing at the connection.  This wire should be white on the Honda, but check with a meter- there may be more than one.

actually AutoLoc recommended 8g or 10g to me since they are high current draw solenoids and I happen to have a 200ft roll of 8g and i'm kind of out in the boonies so i'm about 45 miles from the nearest place that sells 10g wire so to be honest I'm using the 8g is to save money.
