Ive been reading on this forum for the past week about making fiberglass subwoofer boxes. I was wondering how you go about painting a finished box? What kind of paint do you use? Wheres is the best place to buy fiberglass? Do you use a clear-coat of paint after you paint it to make it shine? Thanks in advance.

Make sure you do your sanding very well, it's the most important part of fiberglass work. After you have molded your shape and have your resin complete, you can use a light body filler plaster (which is red, but doesn't have to be) to fill in the tiny scratches left over from fine sanding. (also speeds up sanding, if you dont want to go all the way to 400grit) Then use a couple coats of primer, then enamel paint. Krylon works well. If you want to do an immaculate job, after you have done your coats of primer, wet sand it with 400grit, dry it then paint. If your sanding is done well, the paint will look really niceFiberglass painting -- posted image.
