right now i have the n2 with the n3 software... i did that hoping to fix the ipod interface... no luck with it though...
will changing out to the new cd-IB100II help me out? be great if it did lol

Nope.  As previous posts said, that was a hardware change between the N2 and N3, not just software.  The CDIB100II will work exactly the same as your current one

adapter is identical besides there is only one cable going to the iPod instead of the 2

You'll need to purchase an N3 to get that capability, unfortunately. I would love to have an N3 myself... Or the Z1!
