Greetings,

I recently made some 8 AWG ground wires for my car and I can't seem to make the gold plated circular connector hold the wire tight. I purchased the 8 AWG connector and it does not hold very well, I was actually able to pull out the wire.
The local store where I got the connector from did not seem to have any smaller than 8 AWG that were gold plated.
Any suggestions as to what I can do to make the wire hold tighter?
Thanks.

You need to crimp the ends with a proper crimp tool. After that, solder the end onto the wire.

well crimp it carfully make sure it is very tights against the wire. One thing i like to do is make sure one side tucks under the other on the crimp part and thenuse a screwdriver t hammer down and secure it. Then i use sodder as an extra precaution.
