Hi all,
I would like to replace the factory installed Monsoon head unit on my '04 Santa Fe which has a 6 speaker system. 2 front tweeters, 2 front door woofers and 2 rear woofers.
The new unit I got has four channels, 2 front and 2 rear. Should I connect the 2 tweeters in paralle with the 2 front woofers? Will this blow out the tweeters?
Thanks!

use a multi meter and test the speaker outputs and see what they are reading. more that likely there wired together in parallel. If you get 4 ohms then you can wire them to the deck .

Have you tried the 70-2003 harness from metra? You just wire aftermarket h.u. to it and plug it into factory plug.

Use a crossover to seperate the upper frequencies and lower frequencies from the front channel.  Connect the upper frequencies to the tweeter and the lower frequencies to the woofer.

More than likely the tweeters have a crossover built into them. Wire your deck with the proper harness and you should be ok.
But if there is a factory amp in that car somewhere, it might be a diff story.

whether you use a metra or scosche harness is obsolete,  if the tweeters and the door speakers are 4 ohms in parallel the head unit will still see a 2 ohm load. The deck is not capable of handling a 2 ohm load you'll burn it up.
