ok i got my tv put in ( 7" ) and my dvd player can i hook the too positives together and run power from my red wire under the stearing colum ? i think its the ignision wire ? its a constant power so i put a switch so i can turn it on when ever

Yes you can do that. Just make sure your grounded good and a fuse is in place to prevent fried tv's and dvd player. I drew a picture of a way you can do it. Its not the best picture in the world but you can get an idea.
