I am about to install a remote start unit in my 2002 Trailblazer EXT.  I would like to know wich bypass is the best to use and where can I get one at a good price.  I would also like to know if it is possible to make your own bypass unit and what  is the wiring diagram for it.

Thank You

Robert

I suggest using the PLDATA and the GMDL4 for the door locks & windows interface. It takes about 5 minutes to install these modules ( doing the prep work prior to installation ) and about 2 minutes to program. They are great time savers and worth the money if you can save yourself 2 hours of installation time on this vehicle.

I second the pldata, god i love those. And isn't it a GMDL1 for the door lock module and windows? At least that's what's in mine.

Whops... your right it's the GMDL1 not the GMDL4. The GMDL4 is for the larger/higher end GM trucks

The trailblazer does not have a transponder based anti-theft device it has the Passlock II which you can use the PLDATA to bypass like mentioned above. Very slick and saves time like you wouldn't believe. Same with the GMDL1 and yes the new ones will roll up the windows.

The GMDL1 & PLDATA work for the 2002 - 2003 Envoy , Envoy EXT & Traliblazer. The GMDL1 works the windows automatically without having to push another AUX channel on the remote. If any of the windows are open , when you arm the system the windows will automatically roll up you don't have to do anything else. It took me about 25 mintes to install both modules + program them & I had not problems with the customer after he left the shop.

Without this module you would need alot of relays and you would need to go into the BCM ( under the rear passenger seat ) and hook up all the wires through there. The PLDATA is a 4 wire connection to bypass the Passlcok system on the truck .
