Hello all,

Looking for a reverse wire in my '02 Toyota Sequoia, preferably near the drivers side or somewhere near the front of the car if possible. I did a search and found another member stated that the BLACK/ red wire in a harness behind the drivers kick panel is the reverse wire.

(this thread https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_posts.asp?tid=43998&KW=sequoia+reverse)

Unfortunately, when I meter out this wire when in reverse, park or drive it's always giving out +12v. I'm looking for a switched 12v that kicks on when the car is in reverse. Anyone know where I can find this wire?

Thanks in advance,

-Ed

Hmm now that I search some more it looks like the power unlock is also RED / black...can anyone tell me where the reverse red black wire is exactly in the tundra or sequoia? TIA,

_Ed

I'm not sure if this will help you because I don't know the vehicle. However, I would start at the rear of the vehicle and work my way forward. Remove the bulb holder for the reverse signal lamp. Test for 12V+ at the holder when in reveres to detect the correct wire and follow the loom forward to the front of the vehicle. Normally under the carpets, under the door step trims. They usually just pull off but as I say, not knowing the vehicle I wouldn’t like to suggest you pull something too hard! Anyway, check the same colour cable in the kick well up front, just in case the colour has changed. If so, go back and follow the loom looking for a plug where the change has taken place and trace forward again. Hope this helps!
