I'm new to the installer's side of the 12 volt world.  I'm heading to Installer Institute next week for the entire 4 week course, but that's all besides the point.

I have a 1995 Mercury Sable and want to really make it loud (louder than it already is anyway).  I've had some ideas running through my head and thought I'd get some opinions on it.

Have you ever seen a Sable with the backseats taken out and a wall built?  I'm not sure how many subs I can fit in a wall like that, but I'd love to put in at least 3 W7-13 or 12's with 2 1000W Class D amps running to each.  This all just kinda popped into my head without doing any research.  Any opinions or comments would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks

By the time you get out of the Institute you will have a different perspective in what you want to do as far as plans for the Sable. The removal of the rear seat area will be a little tricky to incorporate into an installation because of the fact you have a solid rear dash area to content with. The biggest problem I see if the OEM alternator and battery is not sufficient enough for the system you are thinking of. You will need fairly large gauge wires to accomplish all the power you are wanting to put onto the subs.I say wait until you are done your course before you start anything of this magnitude ...... I know you will likely change your mind. Anything is possible....... you just need the money and the time.

I agree with Jeff..... lotsa $$$$ and lotsa time!! You may want to check with your state laws as well. In many states it is illegal to have a "wall" in your car blocking you view of the road behind you. (officer safety when he pulls you over) It may be more expensive to you to build it to have a cop pull you over and cite you for obstrucion of view and make you tear your new creation out before he will let you leave. In trucks it is ok, but car guys get the raw end of the deal! Check first......

Thanks for the replies, but understand that I will obviously have extra power sources (batteries) and my idea I guess really isn't a wall persay, but merely a replacement for the rear seats.  It won't actually go up past the rear deck and the vented enclosure will actually extend back into my trunk.  Obviously I also understand the cost involved, but being an installer it will be a little cheaper than your average consumer.  Time really isn't that large of a factor either.  I am the first installer this company has had in a few months, so business is really slow right now.  I might have a deck install here and there but for the most part I have a lot of time on my hands and I'd rather be working on my own car than answering the phones.  Thanks for bringing those concerns to surface, but I've already thought about those..... but any other opinions would still be appreciated.
