The factory speakers have a harness that connects to the speakers . but when trying to install aftermarket speakers there is no place to install this harness to the speakers .Do I need to get some adapter to connect the speakers?

could cut them or tap into them

There are speaker adapters for most manufacturers sold by places like Crutchfield.

What is the make and model of your car?
There is no such thing as free installation!

need some more info, make model year so I can look up the color codes, but you would tap into both wires, but we need to find out which is + and which is -.

Go to general info on the left side of this page and click on vehicle wiring, it's in there.
There is no such thing as free installation!

The aftermarket has only two slide in connectors so how would I connect it to the main harness

Clip them off and crimp on .125 and .250 female spade connectors.
There is no such thing as free installation!
