Do you think an alpine MRD-1005 will run 2 12" Alpine type X subs? The subs are rated at 1000RMS and 3000 Peak and the amp was tested at 1044RMS at 14 volts. Will the amp run the 2 subs???
Currently: Alpine 9813, Alpine MRD-M1005 and Alpine 12" Type X. Future Plans: Alpine MRV-F545, Focal for the front and Alpine Rs in the rear

Yes but not super loud. These subs are really inefficient so you might think about making a ported box instead of a sealed one.

Right now its in a rather large slotted box. I guess my main question is... will the output still be more or less the same? and will it damage any of the parts from the subs being under powered?

Also the 1000 watt rating for this amp is at 2 ohms, your set up will show the amp a 4 ohm load. That will also effect the volume level.

Unless you excede the termal or excursion limits of the sub, no. There's a great sticky about not enough power, you should give it a read.

my friend has 2 type X 12s in a vented box and two mrd1005 amps. killer loud man. Good choice.
What are the impedances of your subs?
Well you could run those two type X's if they are dual 2 ohm voice coils.

Type x woofers are only made with dual 4 ohm coils.
