hey i just got given a escort passport 8500 radar detector but someone thought that they could cut the plug and hard wire it. Their are 4 wires in the cable, red, black, green , yellow. so can anyone help me find out what wire goes to what??

i cut i piece about 6 inches of a phone cord strip the wire to only expose the red and green

or black anyway i use a 9volt batt to test for operation red was definet +
