Alright, after alot of work on designing a street box for A 12" kicker L7 I have come onto something that has worked very very well
The Test's were conluded on a stock battery and alternator which were slightly underpowering the amp, the lights were dimming
The amp that was powering the sub was A kicker ZR600 which has a rating of 150x2 or 600x1 @ 4ohm. Our testing showed 420 watts RMS with a peak of over 800 with a bettery battery in place
The box measured 3.65 cu ft internal before port displacement, with a 2.25x13.25x27 inch slot port
The setup was capable of 142.6 db on the term-lab meter at 40hz! in a honda civic coupe.
The same box was capable of 145.1db in a mazda B2200 pickup!
This again was using (1) 2004 Kicker L7 12" sub with a Kicker ZR600 amp producing 420WRMS!
It moves a crazy amount of air throughout the cabin, and hits extreamly extreamly low, but remains very very clear for SUB bass frequencys.
I have had alot of people ask me about a good street box for the L7's, but we have been unable to work on anything as we have been too busy running USACi shows this year untill now.
I will be trying that bxo today with 2 subs in it just to see what it does to the response curve and frequency.
I will be sure to list anymore results as I come out with them!

not a problem, I was just really trying to find a way to make the Kicker L7 Loud, clear, deep, and tight....it has a very smooth response in all feilds so far!

Good stuff!
You said the amp was underpowered, any idea what the output of the stock alternator is?

The stock alternator is a 85 amp at crusing speeds.....but I think it has a max hot output of less then 60 amps at idle.
I was just testing a real world scenario, I might go ahead and test it with the HO alt and Kinetik battery and some real power today to see, I am going out to revamp the box again right now, to try and improve on it!

98 civic coupe.   yes the seats were folded down.
I cut the port down to 24 inches and it does alot better for all frenquencys instead of just realy really low.
I will meter it sometime later today when I go back out to the garage!

It fell off a little and did a peak number of a 142.1db      But I decided to throw late night tip in just for fun, and it was able to do 140.6db on one of the notes in the song!    It averaged about 138db during that whole song.
