My gf has a 98 Dodge Neon, and her mom paid $20 to get the sunroof disabled for the winter for some reason, and apparently it costs $300 to get reconnected. I am curious as to what would cost 20 bucks to do and 300 to undo. I checked the fuse and they didn't take that off. Is there any other things I can check to save her a but load of money so we can enjoy nice sunny days with the sunroof open? Thanks for the help

have you looked at http://www.neons.org

I also have a 1998 neon with factory sun roof...

if the fuse is good... then you need to check the connections at the switch and motor...

the switch is just pressed fit with the pressure clip at the top and bottom of the switch (use a flat blade screw driver or thin panel tool)

if the sunroof never worked then there is ways to fix that...

but why pay to have it disabled?

that is a great question and i do wish we could ask her mom that...it doesnt make an ounce of sense to me...could have just said...don't open the sunroof during the winter

most likely all they did was disconnect the motor from the switch up where the motor is.

yea, look at the switch and see if they didn't just disconnect it first. if you have a tester then you could make sure they didn't disable it prior to the motor. more than likely they just unplugged it. good luck and hope this helps.
