Viper 791XV just stopped working

Was the alarm installed professionally?  If it was then take it where it was done and have them replace the antenna.  It's covered under the warranty.  If you installed it yourself then your best bet is going to be buy a new antenna online since dei doesn't warranty the 791 if it's not professionally installed.

This is an easy fix. It sounds like you have switch car modes. That remote can be programed to work up to 4 systems so you could have 4 vehicles with 791's and only need one remote. On the back of the remote is a black program button. Tap the button until the number 1 is displayed on the screen. then try to work the car with it.

where exactly is this button and thats good to know because I was thinking about installin another 791 on my Cutlass

The black button is only on recent versions of the remote. It would be on the back side. They added it about a year ago I think.

Check the soldering on the 3 pin and 7 pin connector between the main and daughter board in the remote.......

soldering done on these boards is done in a pooling method and well even dei service techs prefer other ways.
