92 Cavalier Trunk Popper

i bought an OEM trunk popper from the yard the other day cuz i shaved my trunk lock, now heres the thing, when i put power to the frame of the solenoid and hit the connector with ground it pops, but when i ground the connector and hit it with power, noting, or when ground the solenoid and hit the connector with power i get nothing as well
how in the bloody hell do i wire this to a switch to make it pop

Run a GROUND from the Frame of solenoid also.........
Sounds like the area where the solenoid is mounted is not Grounded

but its part of the frame? ill try it, but that seems odd that having it screwed to the trunk wouldnt be grounded

Trunks, like Hoods & Doors can have GROUND issues.  The Hinge can cause the problem.  I always put a GROUND Strap to any moving Door if I don't have a GROUND wire ran to the Accessory I have installed.

Sometimes you will get a GROUND when the Trunk, Door, Hood is open, but when it is closed the Hinge will actually isolate it.  Caused from Dirt, Oil, wear, etc.
