Okay....

Sorry for the "lack of experience" but could some people please chime in on my 3 questions, please?

1.) I have a JL 450/4 amp --- The rear channel has power rated at 75X2 ---- My focal speakers are rated at 70 nominal and 140 max watts......  Does this mean you can turn the input sens (gain) almost all the way up w/ o damaging the speakers?

2.)  On Slope --- What's the difference between the 12db & 24db setting?  I have components in all 4 doors.... Is 12db the correct setting?

3.)  With components in all 4 doors (mids & tweets) where is a good X-over setting on the amp? 85; 95; 105; higher?

Thanks in advance and sorry about the novice questions

no that is not how you set the gain, it is not a volume knob.   You need to read the gain setting topic at the begining of this thread or you need to read the topic on setting the gains on that amp in your owners manual, or view the manual online at Jl Audio.
the slope is how quickly after the cutoff frequency will take full effect
