I installed a RS in a 2005 base model Caravan with no remotes, alarm, sliding doors or anything, just power windows and DL's.  I tested the started with key in ign, it works great, however when I try to program the CHRDAA04 bypass it does not do the normal 3 horn honk, or chime or anything, its not accepting the data portion of the moduel.  I tryed the PURPLE / green and PURPLE / lt. green, and PURPLE / blue in the drivers kick panel as the analog 2 hookup and neither of which worked.

Once I get past that stage i can then proceded to program, thats the easy part, but this is just baffleing me.   Any ideas?

First things first why did u use these bypass over directed’s 456. It is a lot easier to use, but that’s besides the point. The wire u are looking for is at the BCM its a white plug, pin 21 and the color of the wire is PURPLE / dk. green.  The BCM is located in the driver kick near the parking brake it has 5 plugs in it.  Lock is negative trigger thru a 5.3K ohm resistor.  With the bypass using prob. u going to have to use but I have not heard of the brand

Wire By Wire

• White- N.C

• Pink/Black- only use if factory alarm which u said there is not so don't use
• Pink - BCM its a white plug, pin 21 and the color of the wire is PURPLE / dk. green. Lock is negative trigger thru a 5.3K ohm resistor
• Green- N.C
• Blue- neg out from RS
• ORANGE / black- Pin 2 at diagnostic plug which color should be ORANGE / black
• Orange- hook to neg unlock from RS
• PURPLE / white-  hook to neg lock from RS

• Purple -  Dont use

• Yellow/black- don't use since no sliding door
• Yellow- don't use since no sliding door
• Red- 12volt pos. fused
• black- ground

Also hook up the 3rd pin connection around the key cylinder.  That should work after u program it. Hopefully I didn't confuse u.

Symptom: The bypass kit will not program while the data portion (if applicable) may work on some vehicles.
Cause: The internal transponder on these bypasskits can only be programmed once. When they are programmed into the vehicles' control module they are slightly modified and cannot be used again. Some distributors were unaware of this, and there have been a few reports where there have been some used bypass kits recirculated back to our customers. This problem should be assumed as a last resort. If all else fails it may be likely that this is the case.
Solution: Return the bypass kit to your distributor for warrenty exchange. The distributor shall return all bypass kits suspected of this problem back to FortinAutoRadio so we are able to test the on-board transponder for previous use, and when neccessary it will be replaced.

Well the unit was brand new, specially ordered for me, could it still have possibly been previously programmed?  Im getting tired of bypasses not working, usually I can make up an excuse while I buy time, but this customer sat and watched the whole install, and even saw the only sketchey mistake I made where i touched the jumper wire to ground trying to power up the ign.

I've noticed that the programming of the Dodge vehicles you have to take apart the module and place the module with the chip as close tot he ignition as possible. If you don't do this, the programming sequence is not complete and you end up doing it again and again. I don't believe that you have a programmed module but try the programming sequence again but this time remove the cover of the module and know where the chip is in the module and program accordingly.

If you don't follow the programming instructions to a "T", the unit will not program properly. Make sure that you have the jumper wire between the ignition and 12 volts set up prior to programming so all you have to do is quickly touch the two together within the time frame explained in the instructions.

 V  M is correct............  Tech Service has advised numerous times to take Module apart, because the Chip is pretty weak and they have had programming issues because of it. 
Also, be sure the R/S is ready to go, TACH, ACCESS, IGN, etc.  &  working prior to programming.

When I program By-pass modules for Chrysler I usually hold the box against the ignition tumbler.
