merlon e330 alarm problems

i installed an alarm its a merlon e330  and the problem im having is that when i try to set it to passive arming it wont stay on passive arming and just today the car doors were open and the alarm armed itself and then went off ( it activated) any ideas of what my problem might be?    im thinking the alarm is defective what do you think?

Two things: either there is something wrong with the door trigger or there is an issue with the alarm. Some alarms will automatically passive arm after a set time regardless of the fact the door is open.

What wires in the car did you use for the door trigger? The symptoms you are describing indicate a problem with that part of the install. It could also be a problem with the alarm....it is a Merlon after all.
I'm also assuming this is about the RSX in your other post.

well i checked all the connection and they are fine on the door triger its positive so i used a wire that goes directly to the dome light was that ok?   im really thinking that there is going to be a problem w/ the alarm brain

hey guys its me again i changed the brain on that mearlon (mea330) that i installed on the 98 crown victoria and everithing is working fine the only thing is that when i try to set it to pasive arming it just wont do it any ideas? im going to double check my connection on the door triger wire just in case.

how esential is the hood pin that comes with the alarm im still not able to get the alarm to arm under pasive the thing is that i dint install the hood pin is that my problem?
