sorry, im talking about diff pieces of equipment. right now i am running the alpine 12 dvc sub.  i have it wired to one channel. i wanna know if it is possible to wire it bridged to the 4ohm mono load while the speaker is wired at 8ohms. is it equal or better than having it wired at 2ohms to a single channel?

Not sure if thats possible since you dont mention which amp it is and if it is 2ohm stable while bridged. Assuming it is, 2ohms is 2 ohms. No matter how you run it, as long as it equals 2ohms its going to be the same.

Ok well I am confused about what exactly you are running.
Pioneer amp or RF amp?
If its the pioneer amp than wiring it 4ohms to each channel would put out the same power as wiring the sub paralleled to one channel at 2 ohms.
I'd go with the 4 ohms per channel

ok im using the pioneer amp for the alpine sub. i would like to pull the most power from it. it is stable at 4ohms bridged. should i wire the DVC to 8ohms and bridge the amp?

Either way you wire it, Each coil to a channel or parallel and bridging the amp, you'll get the same power output.

Well, it is all hooked up. she sounds great. but it is in a ported box for two 12's, considering i blew the other 12" by having it bridged for 4ohm (amp)  to a 2ohm load (speaker). but the box is chambered so im getting good sound. i know the formulas for building a box so im gonna make a new one and tune the ports to where i want it. did enough research on building a box so ill post pics after im totally finished.

By the way, i just got back from the Funkmaster Flex Custom Car and Bike Show in Edison New Jersey today. It was sick.  Cars had fish tanks for headlights, 22 7" tvs; it was rediculous. im going to try to figure out how to get ALL the pictures off of my phone, which are resolution 1280 x 960.  Cardomain.com guys were there too.  all the fiberglass was insane.  guys were sprayin NOS.

Well anyway, thanks again guys.  Glad to be a part of the 12 volt community.

Is it just me, or having fish tanks in your headlights is just plain stupid!! Sounds like something stupid West Coast Customs would do to me. Come on guys!! Im all about the custom work, but fish tanks and car audio just dont go together in my opinion!
