I have a neon tube that i got from checker auto. The tube has a ciggarette lighter plug on it... but ive got no ciggarette lighter in my van. i was wondering how i could wire this in car neon.

I have a switch and i would like it to turn on with my switch.

the vehicle is a 1980 ford e-100 shortbox

Does your neon have one large wire or two wires connecting to the ciggarette lighter?
If it has one large wire you will have to cut it off the ciggarette ligher. Once you peel back the outer part it should have two differnt wires inside. Now to connect this you will have to find either a constant 12 volt wire. Or find any kind of lighting fixture in your car and pull it out. You can use the wires from those to connect your neon.
To wire a switch you will probably need more wire, but connect the positive wire from your neon to one side of the switch and connect a wire from the switch to the wire you want to use from your car.
Also you could buy different neons that do not use the ciggarette lighter.
Ask if you need to clarify anything.
