While I hate e-slang ie LOL and IC, I cant hate on the grammer thing becuase I am a horrible speller and have horrible grammer. Its not on purpose, im just simple ;)
I cannot stand "IC"(I see) or "nm"(nevermind)
but "LOL" is appropiate, because it is showing an action that is taking place.
I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.

My most hated is the use of the non-existent word " irregardless". Think about that phanthom double negative for a second.

One time I was talking to my friend. I was not thinking when I said ... "Yea, I was thinking about getting a Tein coilover setup for my mitsubishi. From what I hear supposedly it supposed to be really good for that particular year"
He started laughing real hard at me and repeated "supposedly supposed to" ?
Friend: "damn, that is a lot of variables and uncertainty"
lol
So, I realized how unsure I sounded and I corrected myself. I have not made that mistake since.

"Supposebly"... the word is supposedly. That one always drives me insane!

Always loved that one...
My wife came home after work one day. She had done an interview, and the interviewee said "I have a photostatic remembery". We still laugh about that one!
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

In the redundancy dept:  "high-tech technology".  I caught myself almost saying that.

How about definately, or there instead of their.

It sometimes gives me a headache trying to read some posts. Not only does it make things difficult just to read, but I can't figure out what their actually trying to get resolved.

I use the abbreviations for LOL, ROFL, BTW, etc. I can't deal with it when over half the post is written that way. It's like trying to figure out a rebus without the pictures! Maybe I need to drink more before reading. It might be an easier read.

Internet chat has definitely left grammar and spelling in the back seat lately. YEARS ago when I was doing the IRC chat thing, I was known as the IRC Spell Check. I couldn't stand it. I HATE when I post and realize that I spelled something wrong. Though I think I can edit my posts now that I have 50 under my belt. I'll have to remember that.

I was trying to stay awake in monitor beach a while ago during some talking head thingy I was teching. The person on stage was the Provincial Minister Of Agriculture..... after she was spewing forth for close to half an hour about subjects we cared less about (lampie was snoring, dude at the other end of the snake was reading a book), she finally utterede a phrase that made us crack up fro the rest of the conference:
Non-Timber Forest Products
Ahhhh...... huh? What? Berries? Moose turds? We still can't figure out, to this very day, what she was referring to. Somehow, this person got elected. Wow.
