i have a 99 windstar and right now the driver controls all 4 windows and the passenger can control the passenger window. what i want to do is put 2 switches in the back of the van so that the rear windows can be controlled from there. how would i go about doing that?

I would think the driver's 4 gang window switch is the master control and it then feeds over to the passenger front door switch and then that switch wires to that doors window motor. I would think a person could get two more passenger front door switches (or ones that work the same and can handle the current) and then also get the plugs for the switches (and this might have to be cut out of a donor vehicle). I would then look at a wiring diagram for the vehicle and see how the other passenger front door switch is wired to the window motor and the master 4 gang switch and then do the same for the other rear windows. At most you might have to Y off of the power and ground going to the master switch in the driver's kick panel.

I'm thinking with some wiring diagrams and some parts from a donor vehicle, it would work. At most you might have to get a different switch due to possibly mounting concerns as to where you would want to mount the switches and how they mounted originally.
