I have found one of these subs and I am thinking about purchasing it...however, I have noticed that the (spider, or voice coil, not sure which) circular yellow thingy that surrounds the base of the cone is not flat...it is drawn downwards...I have also noticed (with my trusty DMM) that the impedance on each voice coil is 2.3ohms...
Are these subs garbage now? on their way to being garbage?
Or, is that normal for this sub?
I had also noticed a RFP-1415's yellow thingy, and it was perfectly flat...

ehhh i would probably shy away from that one. if im following what your saying, if you look at the sub from the side and right above the magnet. if that is sunk in and isnt ridged enough to hold up the cone of the woffer something isnt to right. if thats what your talking about. also try pushing the sub in and outward if it feels crunchy or doesnt move freely then def dont mess with it
