Why do you need dual alternators?

I saw one of the JBL demo trucks the other day and the whole underside of the hood was mounted with alternators. To answer your question though.... Are you running 2 batteries? If so your best bet would be to run an alternator per battery. Especially if all of your audio is run off of one battery.
