Hi I recently purchased a SoundStream EGA900D.
The amp is rated at 1x900 watts @ 1 ohm RMS.
I have 2 Rockford Fosgate Punch dvc (model# rfp-1212)
I want to run them @ 1 ohm.
Im looking at this diagram from the manual that shows I can achive this but Im not sure Im understanding it compleatly.

Is it telling me to connect all + terminals and all - terminals respectivaly and take them to there respective terminal on the mono amp?

When you look at a variety of wiring diagrams (see Woofer Wiring here in the left column), it all starts to become clearer.  A parallel connection is that all terminals of the same polarity are connected together...simply that.  The actual wiring will usually look different than a wiring schematic displays it   A schematic is a depiction of electrical connections, and you can make your real-life connections differently than the diagram as long as the electrical connection stays true.

Here's three examples of the same parallel connection:

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

What is the best way to connect all polarities inside of a sealed box?

Hi stevdart this diagram style made it very clear for me thanks for the help.
I still am trying to figure the absolute best way to wire these so that dont loose continuity (ie I dont like cutting the speaker wire)

Your actual wiring might look more like this:

The normal process is to:

  • Connect the coils of one woofer, then the other.  In your setup, the coils are connected in parallel + to +, - to -.  Use single strands of speaker wire to do this.
  • Then, connect the subwoofers together.  Again, your setup is parallel, so it's same polarity with all connections.  The terminology used for this wiring is parallel / parallel;  (for coils / woofers).
  • Finally, choose one terminal (any one) of each polarity and secure a wire to the amp's terminal of same polarity.  All positive terminals are connected, and likewise the negative terminals.
Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.
