I'm currently working on a 95 civic 2 door and i'm planning to run 2 12 inch subs. I haven't decided on the model or the amp yet but i'm sure i'm running 12's. Now the problem is that this civic also has air rides installed and the compressors and tank take up about 3 quarters of the trunk. My plan is to seal off the compressors and tank with a carpeted piece of MDF so that it looks like there is no tank in the trunk. I want to build a custom fiberglass enclosure but i don't know were to start. I want to put each sub seperately in each end of the width of the space left in the trunk and fiberglass it like that. I have 3 questions...

1. Is it a good idea to seperate the subs and keep them each in a seperate enclosures as far as sound quality goes?

2. Do i need to take the subwoofer specs in to consideration and build a box of correct volume and how would i go about doing that?

3. Is it a better idea to keep both subs together , build most of the box out of mdf according to specs and fiberclass it after?

Its not a big deal seperating subs into different enclosures, Id concentrate on getting them into enclosures that meet specs. If you havent bought them yet, Id suggest measuring the amount of space you can use for them, then pick subs that fit in that volume size. I know BassBox Pro software, what I use, lets you choose enclosure size first, then gives you subs that will fit. Im a firm believer, its all about the enclosure!

me too, i know some people just mold around the sub and i think that will sound really bad.

Seeing that you don't have much room in the trunk, your not going to have use for the remaining space left so I suggest mounting the subwoofers inverted and you won't have to worry about the displacement of the basket and magnet.
