Greetings

I have a '95 GMC Sonoma ext cab. System is: Kenwood cd/mp3 deck, Clarion eq, Sony 4x40 to door and dash speakers (Cerwin 6.5" and Infinity 4x6 plates), Punch 360 2ch to JL stealthbox w/dual 10s, 1.0 farad cap, 4 guage cables.

I pulled the Kenwood cd deck and Clarion eq (I had the 1din plus half din flush kit from Metra) and I'm replacing them with a Kenwood 7017 double-din dvd deck. The dash opening is more than big enough, but the depth of the dash is inadequate. My old deck fit flush but not without some cutting of the plasticwork on the inside. I can't cut anymore out- or, I refuse to anyways for the new deck.

What are some good ways to make this look good? Fiberglass would probably work well, but I have zero experience with this. Anyone know of any examples out there?

thanks-

don't use butt-crimps... solder it!

Here's a pic of my 95 blazer (same dash) with a double din AVIC-z1... I used a bestkits chevy type II mounting kit and made the remaining trim ring with abs wrapped in vinyl...
Note: I've since improved this, but on the same principal
