1995 Nissan Altima Radio Wiring

I had just purchased this car last week and decided to change the radio out. It has an aftermarket one in there but i pulled it out and the last owner had the Factory Harnesses Cut....so i purchased the harness for the stock radio NWH-703 male ends, to hook up back the oem wires to the harness....then buy another harness to to keep everything neat and for future installation of easy access....but i am running into an issue witht the wiring because i need the exact factory colors to hook up to the new male harness's....i am only counting 13 wires and i cant figure out which wires are ground and power antenna...the wire codes on this site do not match quite right.....my big question is ....If there is no ground wire how does the Female Aftermarket Wiring harness have it and have it hooked up and working as well as the other wires that are missing from the harness.....can anybody help me figuring this out......thank you

sometime you have to ground it seperately.

i need to know which wire is the power antenna wire or antenna trigger.....i dont have a GREEN / WHITE wire....and my question was how does a wiring harness have a ground when there is no ground on the factory harness and still make the aftermaket HU work????

1: Check Fuses

2: Remove retaining nut from antenna base, and pull broken antenna snake out. Replace.

3: Confirm remote lead is working on radio.

That's pretty much what can be wrong, and not necessarily in that order.

Do you have a power antenna?

I think, sometimes the factory radio has a chassis ground instead of one in the harness.

yes i do have a power antenna and i think u are misunderstanding my question......u know how when u purchase a radio wiring harness kit and it has all the necessary wiring for the new aftermarket HU....how does it have a ground wire on it and the factory harness doesnt and after hooking it up it still powers on the radio???? get what im trying ot say??

Read the sticky labelled "How to figure out stereo wiring". That will give you most of the wires.

Was the power antenna working before? If so, turn the key to accessory and using a basic test light, jumper 12 volts to the remaining wires one at a time, until you find the wire that triggers the power antenna. The light will provide some resistance, and keep you from blowing fuses if you try the wrong one. If you can't locate it, try using a slightly higher wattage bulb.

The reason the radio works without the ground wire connected is because the chassis of the radio itself is a ground, so mounting with the factory brackets will provide a ground sometimes, as well as the antenna.
