I'm having problems with my friends remote start on a 1991 lincoln towncar. When the car it's remote started it shuts off right away and then it remote starts again by itself and it keeps doing the same thing until it is powered down by either the remote or by unpuging the fuses. We are using an add on remote starter system. This system comes with a Smart sense so that means we didn't use the tach wire. Can anyone please help. Thank you and I appreciate it.

if all ign and start wires are correct than the only thing left is something to tell the R. start unit that the car is running that would be tach, so if the unit has a tach wire hook it up as per the directions on the remote start. i only use smart sence or voltage sence when the car has no tach wire that can be accessed because smart /voltage sence is a hit or miss if it going to work. usulay what the unit is looking for is a change in voltage when the alternator kickes in. so if you do have to use smart  sence and is not working move the 12V batt. line from the remote start to the cars batt.
