i know in our 02 Jetta i found 2 wires that locked the doors, one was rather intermittent with a 200ma pulse but the other worked fine, but i don't recal the colors. " i think" the one i used was Yellow/Blue. But my OEM remote always worked....

did the installer use T-Taps or solder? If T-Taps maybe the wire has been cut by the tap, if soldered, possibly a cold solder joint or even broken....

Ok my installer messed up something pertaining to the the lock actuator. I have a question this is the scenario.I arm my Viper Alarm I wait ten seconds I go to unlock the door with the remote and the alarm disarms but the doors don't unlock.OK ...Next I remote start my vehicle system is armed I go to unlock my doors and it unlocks fine. Is this what you experienced in your 2002 Jetta..It seems like the factory alarm sleeps the locks to save energy and unable to unlock with the viper remote, the factory remote unlocks them fine. My installer mentioned a Pulse ,But he is unaware how to do it until the wiring diagram comes out for the 2003. Do you have any suggestions??Thanks Bruce

Tell the dealer to get it right or give you a full refund and go somewhere else.  That is terrible that you would have to deal with that.
