The other day my girlfriend spilt a drink in my center console, the drink went down under the cup holders in the front and spilt all over a wiring harness directly under the holders. I believe the harness is part of the factory stereo wiring. The sub wouldn't work for a while but after disconnecting the harness and letting it dry out it sometimes pops and I can smell hot electronics when I use the stereo. I was wondering if anyone could tell me where the factory amp is. It seems like the smell is coming from the center console under the dash (infront of the cupholder area). Anyone know what the problems could be or can anyone tell me where the factory bose components are located?
I planned to replace the entire stock stereo with aftermarket stuff next year so if I'm not able to easily fix this I'll have to do it a little early. Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated.

the big connector that probably got wet when you spilled your drink is the connector for the rear audio controls on the center console. the factory amp for the bose stereo in that truck is behind the glove box, very hard to see. there are instances where i have seen them in the drivers side rear quarter panel where the sub is, my truck is also a 03 and it was in the rear.

The amp is under the center console, along with the factory sub.  If you smell hot electronics, you shouldn't be using it.

My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.

The amp is under the rear of the center console under the storage compartment as geepherder said. There is a connector in front of it directly under the cupholders. You may want to use some electrical contact cleaner on it. You may have damaged the amp too.
