ok so i have an eclipse 5444 deck and its been working flawlessly for the past 2 years, but the other day, it was raining and some water might have dripped into the stero and for some reason my stereo randomly turns on when the car is off...it will turn on and turn off like 20 sec. later...any ideas?

Who installed it? Did you happen to pull it out and check all of the wiring?

maybe water shorting the + and ACC wires???
just an idea - far fetched though.
or maybe water inside the unit??
check the wiring behind the stereo first, and check insulations well

If your running an amp in your setup check to see if you remote wire could be shorting to your power wire. happened to a friend of mine when the two touch it will actually turn on the headunit

Depending on the vehicle, I have had cases where water intrusion into a plug in the vehicle caused a short to occur and back feed power into the accessory circuit. If you can duplicate the problem, try to turn on something else like the wipers to see if the radio goes off. The wipers or other accessory will draw more current than the radio's acc wire will. This may be enough to temporarily stop the backfeed. You will still have to find the water problem though. Post your vehicle info, as it may help figure the problem out.
