I'm replacing my front tweeters in my '96 Jetta. I HAD some Diamond Audio Titanium ones but I used to have this set in my old car that was in a crash and only one tweeter survived from the pair and just used one from my newer Jetta that I replaced the stock tweeters. So one Diamond and one Monsoon.
My real question is should I just replace them with some Diamond tweeters or possibly with a better set? Any suggestions on something better but not over say $150-200 a pair?

super SQ tweeters would cost you over a grand. You are telling me you want middle of the line tweeters yes? focal tweeters are pretty nice and you can find some in that price range.

EACH.
No, not really.
How big a driver can you install? Give us an idea of diameter, depth, power handling...
I can come up with some spectacular tweeters, that won't cost you an arm OR a leg, but I need to know if I am dealing with some/any contstraints...
As an example, the Morel MDT-33 (right at 300 a pair), the Dynaudio Esotar (around 500 a pair), both HIGHLY repected tweeters, world around...   Any of the Scan-Speak Revelator series...
There are others, too...
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

I've got the stock dash mounting location that I can use thats 3.5" in diameter and depth around 3-4" I'd say and for power handling I'm only sending 75w per channel right now until I upgrade my amp (have had it for about 3 years now and am looking to start upgrading everything)
I could go more expensive but I'm not looking for EXTREME, more just pretty good to pretty dang good. The Diamonds I had are better than most around heresuper sq tweeters -- posted image.

Dave, I'm surprised... Sure, you went for price, but howz about THESE?
OK, so only 3600 a pair, sure, yours are more spendy, but could you imagine a pair of THOSE in a VW dash?

I've used the Raven R-1's.  Not in a car, of course, but in a home system.  Nice sounding tweets.  The diamond domes are used in the newer B&W 800 series speakers.
