Hey guys i figured this would be the place to be for all my answers regarding this type of stuff. I have jdm power folding mirrors on my 2001 prelude pretty much they fold in or out with the press of a button. well I wanted to hook up the alarm to the mirrors. You know car armed mirrors fold in / car disarmed mirrors fold out. Should I tap the +12V  accesorry output on the alarm brain or should I tap the door lock actuator. What is the easiest way to get this done? I got everything wired up and I don't want to break anything. I am pretty sure that I need to throw a diode in there somewhere but I don't know exactly how to get this accomplished.
Can you tech guys give me a run down?
1. If i need a diode which one would i get? 1n0041 or something like that. Anode to what end?
2. If i tap the 12Volt output on the alarm which wire would it be? By the way I have a clifford 2.5 alarm without remote start.
Thanks ppl I really appreciate it

f you hook them up like they should be, when you turn the car off they fold in, then fold out when you turn the car back on, no need for it to be activated by the alarm since they will be folded in anyway, unless you want your mirrors to make you car look like it trying to fly.
There are 10 types of people in the world, ones that understand binary and ones that dont.

for some reason the write up and wiring diagram that I got from a seperate source does not have anything about them folding in or out based on the car being on or off.   In any case I gave some thought and a few people said that I might wear out my mirrors ahead of time becase of aight well considering that I might kill the mirrors because of extensive use.

How about this I hook up the mirrors to the accesory output.  I have this remote on my alarm.  Well the little trunk button on the remote as you guys know is for the additional accesories such as trunk popper, etc etc I figure I might be able to use that as a 12V output right?  That way the mirrors won't fold whenever the car arms/ disarms but I still can fold the mirrors on demand from outside of the car given that my alarm is working. So let me know guys .

The motors will not prematurely wear out because of how you want it to work. In Japan, the factory setting for most mirrors is to fold in when parked or ignition off and fold out when ignition on or out of park. This has been brought up many times in the past in regards to wiring up JDM mirrors in various applications and triggers. Do a search using JDM Mirrors as your search & read what other's have posted. You will find what you need in these papges.
Post your questions after you have read up the posts and we'll help you more when your ready to hook up the relays.
