you have to put diodes on your doorlock output wires from your alarm/starter otherwise the ford system will not go to sleep, thus resulting in a dead battery after a few days. this has been confirmed with negative lock ouputs on audiovox units,im assuming it will be the same with every unit that uses transistor based doorlock outouts. audiovox is aware of the problem but still havent updated their tech info. problem is also present on mercury mountaineer and possibly rangers, escapes and other fords with smart junction boxes.
*moderators might want to consider making this update a sticky.*

Thanks

Also when I lock and unlock the door withthe alarm controller, it pops the fuse on the alarm.  there is a fuse on both wires for the lock/unlock coming from the alarm.  So Im not sure if I need relays.  And if i do what is the trigger ..i.e postive, negative?  Thanks for your help. This is driving me crazy.
