I have a 1995 mercury sable and i wanted  build a ported box for it myself but i never built a ported box. and i want to know how would i go about build one. I want to upgrade my system to 2 alpine type r or 2 12 alpine type x. i already have a ideas about build a ported box but caraudiohelp dvd didnt go into feather detail with it. what programs should i use for calucation and etc.

Search "ported" and "vented" as topics in this forum.  You'll have plenty of info.
Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

you could prob learn a lot just searching this site. its got a port and vol. calculator plus explains how a port works and what are the advantages over sealed.

OMG!  You'll need a tractor trailer for that box.  And how are you going to construct a port that is a negative length?

Post the actual model number of your subs.

nightrider, here is a breakdown and i hope this helps. a square foot is 12" by 12" by 12" box. Now immagine that 154 times. thats friggin huge. most sedan trunks are only around 13 ft^3 at the most. you would need a semi trailer to get 154ft^3
