Hey guys, I installed a compustar 900Fmas a few months ago, and it's been working perfectly. He just called me from out of town saying that he could disable the alarm on his MDX...

He waited for the alarm to time out and put in valet mode, so the remote is responsing, but everytime he tried to lock or unlock the doors, the remote goes through the feature sequence, you know flashing all the icons, and gives what he said looks like an error code " R8-0 "... has anyone seen this before?

I will be looking at the alarm on monday, so any help would be great..

thanks Mark

Replace the battery and make sure that the contacts of the battery inside the remote control is free of corrosion or rust. I had this happen to about a half dozen customers and it ended up being either rust on the contacts or a bad battery.

i've seen that R8-0 code before on my remote. I'm assuming it means low battery because thats what the problem turned out being.

It's a low or no battery indicator that pops up when the battery is jiggled inside the remote and momentarily looses contact with the the circuit board.

No there is not, but you can always go the the tech support at Firstech or contact the dealer where you bought the Compustar system from.
